Congresswoman Sara Jacobs, Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa, said: “The African continent has the youngest and fastest-growing population with booming opportunities and should be treated as an economic and political partner – not a global problem. I was glad to visit Morocco, Niger, Benin, and Senegal to build on the Biden-Harris Administration’s renewed engagement on the continent, strengthen our bilateral partnerships, and meet with political and military leaders to discuss ways to counter violent extremism, uphold human rights, and strengthen good governance. We also discussed the need to enable a credible political process that ensures the Sahrawi people are able to live in freedom, dignity, and peace, and can exercise their inalienable right to self-determination.”
