Rep. Sara Jacobs Statement on H. Res. 927

Rep. Sara Jacobs (CA-51), the youngest Jewish Member of Congress, will vote against H.Res. 927, and instead has called for substantive efforts to fully fund and implement the U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism.

Rep. Sara Jacobs said, “A non-binding resolution designed to divide won’t make Jewish students any safer – and certainly not one led by Congresswoman Stefanik, who only stands against antisemitism when it’s personally and politically expedient. Antisemitism was on the rise before October 7th, and now, we see it getting exponentially worse. That’s why I proudly voted to pass a resolution condemning antisemitism on college campuses last month, and why our focus should now turn to tangible actions to address the root causes. Congress needs to fully fund and implement the U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism to ensure that Jewish people are safe and respected everywhere.”

Last month, Rep. Sara Jacobs voted to pass a resolution condemning antisemitic groups on college and university campuses. She’s also an original cosponsor of a resolution, introduced by Reps. Jerry Nadler (NY-12), Jamie Raskin (MD-08), and Dan Goldman (NY-10), which condemns antisemitism and calls for the implementation of the U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism. Rep. Jacobs also attended a meeting at the White House today about the Biden-Harris Administration’s implementation of the U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism.
