51st Congressional District Service Academy Congressional Nomination
Welcome! This application is for students seeking a congressional nomination to a United States Service Academy who reside in CA-51. Please complete all sections thoroughly. All applications are due by October 15th, 2025, by 5pm PST. Please note this deadline is earlier than last year.

Privacy Act Statement: The submission of the requested information constitutes authorization for review by Congresswoman Sara Jacobs, her staff, her Service Academy Review Board, and the Academy Admissions Office.
Note: Admissions to Service Academies is ultimately decided by the academy to which you have applied. A nomination from Congresswoman Jacobs does not automatically result in an appointment to the Service Academies.
Students applying for a nomination must complete an admissions application with each of the academies they hope to attend. Academies will begin to notify applicants of their admissions status in February, and all offers of appointment are generally sent out by May.
How to apply:
Step One: Confirm Eligibility

Be at least 17 years old, but not yet 23 (25 for the Merchant Marine Academy)

Be a U.S. citizen and a legal resident of CA-51

Be unmarried and have no dependents

The application deadline is October 15, 2025 at 5:00pm PST.

Step Four: Interview Process

Selected applicants will be invited to an in-person interview with our Service Academy Nomination Board. You will be alerted via email if you have been selected for an interview by October 20, 2025. Nomination announcements will follow at a later date, after all interviews have been completed.
