Rep. Sara Jacobs Traveled to Ukraine to Reaffirm U.S. Support of Ukraine’s Defense Against Russia

As part of an official bipartisan congressional delegation, Congresswoman Sara Jacobs (CA-53) traveled to Ukraine and Poland to reaffirm the United States’ commitment to supporting Ukraine in its defense against Russia. Congresswoman Jacobs and her colleagues met with embassy and defense officials to discuss military intelligence, special operations, and the importance of U.S. support of Ukraine’s efforts.

Led by Rep. Ruben Gallego (AZ-07), the congressional delegation also included Reps. Joe Wilson (SC-02), Seth Moulton (MA-06), and Salud Carbajal (CA-24).

Congresswoman Sara Jacobs said: “As we head into winter, a united international coalition – led by the U.S. – is more important than ever to ensuring Ukraine’s continued success in defending itself against Russia’s unprovoked, unjustified invasion. I was grateful to be back in Ukraine with my colleagues to meet with embassy and defense officials and to reiterate the United States’ strong support for Ukraine – through weapons, economic aid, humanitarian assistance, and assistance with war crimes investigations.”

Prior to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Congresswoman Sara Jacobs traveled to Ukraine in January as part of an official congressional delegation led by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Gregory Meeks. The delegation met with President Zelenskyy and senior Ukrainian officials to discuss the escalating security situation and reaffirm U.S. support of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity. Congresswoman Jacobs has also voted for all three aid packages this year to assist Ukraine in its own defense.
