Congresswoman Sara Jacobs Marks 100 Days in Office

Today, Congresswoman Sara Jacobs marked her 100th day in office, having been sworn in on January 3, 2021. The first 100 days of the 117th Congress have been the most eventful and productive of this century and have already included many significant moments in American history: the January 6th insurrection, the second impeachment of President Donald Trump, and inauguration of President Joe Biden, and the passage of the American Rescue Plan — the largest economic stimulus passed in a generation.

Congresswoman Jacobs will be highlighting her office’s accomplishments on behalf of California’s 53rd District throughout the week.

Congresswoman Jacobs released the following statement:

“I'm so excited to mark my first 100 days in office and to highlight some of the major accomplishments my team and I have made on behalf of the 53rd District — from co-sponsoring 105 pieces of legislation to returning more than $100,000 to constituents from federal agencies.

“I came to Congress to be a voice for my generation and for my district — addressing childhood poverty, investing in our children and in child care, fighting on behalf of our LGBTQ+ siblings, addressing gun violence and climate change with the urgency they deserve, advocating for criminal justice reform, supporting our servicemembers and ending the Forever Wars, and more.

“After only 100 days, I am proud to say that we’ve made significant progress on all those priorities. We’ve passed the American Rescue Plan, which makes investments to cut childhood poverty in half and invests $40 billion in our child care industry. We have passed H.R. 1, the Equality Act, the Enhanced Background Checks Act and Bipartisan Background Checks Act, the Dream and Promise Act, the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act — and we’re just getting started.

“I’m excited for the next 100 days: to keep delivering for my constituents and for the American people.”
