Congresswoman Jacobs Statement on April Jobs Report

Congresswoman Sara Jacobs (D-CA-53) issued the following statement on today’s April jobs report:

“Today’s jobs report is a call to action – a call for us to keep our focus on supporting families, creating new jobs and economic growth, and building a strong, sustainable, and equitable recovery.

“I have long said that we will not get an equitable recovery unless we focus on rebuilding our child care infrastructure, and we are seeing that bear out with this report. That’s why, in addition to the American Rescue Plan, we have to pass the American Jobs Plan and the American Families Plan — and make the expanded Child Tax Credit permanent and the Universal Child Care and Early Learning Act, which I am proud to co-sponsor, a reality.”
