Rep. Sara Jacobs Hosts Nearly 7,000 San Diegans on Telephone Town Hall
Rep. Sara Jacobs (CA-51) hosted a telephone town hall last night with nearly 7,000 San Diegans to provide an update about President Trump, Elon Musk, and House Republicans’ efforts to dismantle the federal government and her work to fight back. She also answered questions live from constituents on topics ranging from Medicaid to the targeting of the Department of Education and lawsuits against DOGE to lowering the cost of housing.

Rep. Sara Jacobs said: “Our systems aren’t working for too many people. Too many families can’t make ends meet, can’t actually get child care assistance even though they qualify for it, can’t put food on the table with Cal-Fresh, and so on. We desperately need reform – but President Trump, Elon Musk, and House Republicans’ way of blindly slashing trillions of dollars worth of programs isn’t reform and it isn’t how we address waste, fraud, and abuse. I will keep fighting back against their targeting of the most marginalized people in our communities and their ransacking of our government through lawsuits, legislation, oversight, and public pressure. There is strength in our numbers and power in our voices. And that’s why I was so grateful to join with thousands of San Diegans who care about our community and care about our collective future. Together, we can and we will build the country we want.”
